Roger's Slough was identified as a priority capital improvement project from the Birch Bay Comprehensive Stormwater Plan (BV-01).  Drainage ditches discharging into Roger's Slough back up behind the tide gate under high tide and/or wet weather conditions.  When these ditches overflow, flooding occurs in adjacent yards and on Birch Bay Drive.  BBWARM worked with Osborn Consulting to complete a Preliminary Concept Designs engineering report for Roger's Slough that includes a hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, habitat assessment, and three conceptual design alternatives to address flooding problems.  Questions or comments about the Roger's Slough project can be sent to Kraig Olason at Whatcom County Public Works,  kolason@co.whatcom.wa.us.
